The aim of the IN-PE-CAD team, coordinated by Prof. Marianne Zeller, is to gain a better understanding of the development of coronary artery disease and identify new pathophysiological targets of atherothrombosis, in order to improve the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, through epidemiological and translational approaches. The implementation of these projects involves the use of databases, such as the RICO survey (observatoiRe des Infarctus du myocarde de Côte d’Or), the only one of its kind in France, which includes over 22,000 patients hospitalized for an acute myocardial infarction, or IMACS (myocardial infarction and cardiac arrest during sport), a pioneer registry in the field. Translational and collaborative studies aim to identify new biomarkers, notably linked to inflammation, oxidative stress, lipid metabolism or the influence of environmental risk factors. With the support of numerous academic and industrial partners, our work, which has produced over a hundred publications in the best journals, enables a personalized approach to the prevention of these pathologies and the development of the most innovative therapeutic strategies. The clinical research team’s solid experience of participation in the most important clinical trials in the treatment of cardiometabolic diseases has given it a national and international profile.
