The PEC2 research team focuses on the strong links between cerebrovascular and cardiovascular pathologies, most of which share common risk factors and intertwined physiopathological processes. Thus, translational projects around cardiovascular pathologies such as Myocardial Infarction, Atrial Fibrillation (AF), and cerebrovascular pathologies represented by Strokes are being developed. Few teams in France offer such an interdisciplinary theme based on the metabolic and functional adaptations encountered during homeostatic imbalances affecting the heart and brain. Our theme is centered, translational, and coherent: to clinically and fundamentally appreciate the links between stroke and cardiovascular pathologies (myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, arterial atheroma, etc.).
